It’s here! It’s today! Let’s celebrate with a MAKEOVER!

It’s here! Release day has finally arrived, and I’m so excited to say that my fourth YA novel, My Unscripted Life, is now on shelves. If you’ve been following along, you know that I’ve been celebrating the release all month with an ode to my favorite genre, the romantic comedy. And there’s nothing I love more in a rom com than a good old fashioned makeover montage. Clueless? The Princess Diaries? Pretty Woman? A million times yes, please thank you. So to celebrate the release of My Unscripted Life, my ode to rom coms, I asked style blogger Jessica Quirk of What I Wore to come by and dress my main character, Dee. And man did she nail it.

This is pretty much Dee to a T. Classic and comfy (because a south Georgia summer is hot … and that’s before you throw in the movie star!). That awesome bag would absolutely hold her sketch pad, with a collection of pens and pencils rattling around in the bottom. And those lavender Converse? Yeah, add a little Sharpie art to the soles, and I can see Dee strutting down the cracked sidewalks of downtown Wilder while bopping along on her matching headphones.

Thanks, Jess, for the amazing makeover for Dee! And if you’re looking for your own fashion inspiration, I highly recommend checking out What I Wore’s archives. Jessica has been blogging since 2008 and has partnered with some incredible brands over her time. You’ll definitely find your next outfit in the gallery!

And if Dee seems like someone you might want to hang out with, go pick up your copy of My Unscripted Life TODAY!

MY UNSCRIPTE LIFE- MORRILLSometimes love stories go off script.

Another sultry Georgia summer is about to get a lot hotter. Dee Wilkie is still licking her wounds after getting rejected by the precollege fine arts program of her dreams. But if she’d gone away, she wouldn’t have been around to say yes to an unbelievable opportunity: working on the set of a movie filming in her small Southern town that just happens to be starring Milo Ritter, the famous pop star Dee (along with the rest of the world) has had a crush since eighth grade.

It’s not like Dee will be sharing any screen time with Milo—she’s just a lowly PA. And Milo is so disappointingly rude that Dee is eager to stay far away from him. Except after a few chance meetings, she begins to wonder if just maybe there’s a reason for his offensive attitude, and if there’s more to Milo than his good looks and above-it-all Hollywood pedigree. Can a relationship with a guy like Milo ever work out for a girl like Dee? Never say never. . .
